New HQ Planning Granted! 
We now have Planning Approval for our new Headquarters at our new site on Stoney Road.

It has been a very long road but finally we have achieved this massive step forward.
The Group is now working in the background on detailed plans, conditions and various paperwork to get this project started as soon as feasible.
One skill we are needing is the advice from a Structural Engineer. If there is someone who can help us, please do get in touch with the Scout Group.
As this project continues we shall update everyone, so stay tuned in!

Land Purchased!
The Scout Group has now acquired a 13.95 acre site on the edge of the Village where we hope to build a New Scout Headquarters suitable for future years of Scouting Activities. The Group will now seek advise from Local District Planners via a Pre-App and then a Full Planning Application will be submitted.
2017 – 2020
The Scout Group has been actively fundraising for a new HQ since 2009. Major events over the years such as the Duck Race and Fireworks Display have contributed to the funding pot.
In 2017 the Group received news from a village resident, John Batchelor, that the Legacy from his recently deceased son, Nigel Batchelor, will be shared with the Scout Group along with other village organisations. John himself sadly died at the end of 2017, after which the Group learnt that part of his Legacy will also be left to the Scout Group to use for its general charitable purposes. These Legacies of £500,000 from his Son’s estate were received in 2019 and a then further £150,000 from John’s estate in 2020.
These Legacies have provided a tremendous boost to the fundraising campaign and will help with further applications of grants as we can show we already have sufficient funds in the bank.
The Group is extremely grateful to the Batchelor Family but also sad that John will not be able to see how their gift will create a new home for Scouting in the future.
