As a Uniformed Youth Organisation, all our members must wear the correct uniform shirt or sweatshirt for the section they are attending.
The Scarves or ‘necker’ can be purchased from the Scout Hut as we keep a stock ready for new members, or if current members need to replace one. Woggles are also available at the Scout Hut. Beavers and Cubs wear plastic woggles while Scouts and Explorers wear leather plaited woggles.
SCARVES COST: £5 PLASTIC WOOGLES COST: 30p LEATHER WOGGLES COST: £1
At 1st Grundisburgh Scout Group and Fynn Valley Explorers we consider the official sweatshirt jumper (for Beavers and Cubs) and long sleeve shirt (for Scouts and Explorers) as an essential uniform item, along with the scarf and woggle.
THESE ITEMS CAN BE PURCHASED AT EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING BUSINESSES:
Craftability Ipswich is located at 4 St. Lawrence Street, IP1 1DN
PMG Schoolwear Ipswich is located at 40 Westgate Street, IP1 3ED
The Scout Association’s polo shirts for any Sections are for casual wear on camps and events – NOT for weekly Section meetings and should not hold any badges or replace the official sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt. However if Parents want to purchase one for camps and events, or any other Scouting item then please do so – some items make great gifts for Birthdays or Christmas.
We do not consider the Scout Association’s navy Activity Trousers as an essential piece of the Uniform and ask members to wear suitable trousers or shorts depending on the conditions as per meeting and activity. However, we insist that for Parades members MUST wear smart trousers, either black or charcoal in colour, with smart black shoes.
