NEW HQ

1st Grundisburgh Scout Group and associated uniformed organisations in the Village need a new building for their activities.

Our Scout Hut has now reached the end of its life having been moved to its current location in 1963. We need to provide better facilities for our Leaders to enhance their capacity to bring new ideas and events to the children’s structured programmes in a warm, safe atmosphere during inclement weather and Winter evenings whilst appealing to parents, children and adults to join and take up the Scouting Adventure!

In the Northern area of Ipswich and around Woodbridge, Scouting is strong and growing, but needs a flagship facility for the purpose of modern day Scouts. There is no real argument for renovation or further extensions and a new building would benefit Grundisburgh’s Scouting activities but also the local Community too, as the building would be an additional facility available to be hired in the village by individuals and groups.

The specification for the proposed new facilities centres on a large main hall for Section meetings but easily converted into a purpose built environment for Target Archery where we can develop new and existing skills in young people and adults. To be included in the building specification is an office, meeting room, up-to-date catering facilities, toilets, enhanced storage, parking and improved security.

We really want the Community to help us bring our dream to a reality and create a building we can all use for the benefit of generations to come.
