EXPLORERS INFORMATION

OUR UNIT MEETS ON WEDNESDAYS 7.00pm to 9.00pm

Children may join Explorers when they are 14 years old and remain in the Section until they are 18 years old. They can then move to the County Network Section or become an Adult Leader or helper within the Scout Group.

Explorers are the oldest Section of the Scouting family that we have available for young people in Grundisburgh. The Fynn Valley Explorer Unit is a combination of other Scout Groups in the local area and is based at the Scout Hut in Grundisburgh. The Explorers wear beige shirts and a Unit scarf – scarlet and gold halves with purple and sky blue borders.

Any member of the Explorer Unit is eligible to become a Young Leader and help out at other Section meetings. Young people often use this to gain the ‘Volunteering’ Section of their Duke Of Edinburgh Award.

There are various different camps and events through the calendar and the opportunity to try different activities such as High Fires, Cooking, Incident Hikes, Swimming and Chips, Driving a car, Guest Talks on subjects like Safety on Social Media, County Line Drug issues and Mental Health plus a few open fires.
