BEAVERS INFORMATION

OUR COLONY MEETS ON TUESDAYS 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

Children may join Beavers when they are 6 years old and remain in the Section until they are 8 years old.

Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts and Group scarf or a necker, Beaver Scouts are the youngest Section of the Scouting family. The children undertake a wide variety of activities based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making friends. They also work towards gaining badges and eventually the Chief Scouts Bronze Award.

Whenever possible we also offer the children the chance to camp or go on sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. The events often take place in suitable buildings, like Scout Centres, although they can also take place outdoors.
